Widgets
On Indy.com, widgets are small applications or content blocks that you can use to customize the functionality of your home and profile pages.
We've created a whole slew of widgets already. You can always view the installable widgets at http://www.indy.com/widgets.
With those, you can do things like keep up with the Colts, get notified when news breaks near you, follow the stream of local conversation on Twitter or chat with fellow users about YouTube videos in realtime on your home page.
On your profile page, you can let other users keep up on your Xbox Live gamercard, the music you're listening to via Last.fm's service or the stories you vote for on Digg.
Your home page is how you keep up with the world (the things you want to follow) while your profile page is how you want the world to follow you (what you think other people need to know about you).
The gravy on top of all of this is that you're not limited to just the widgets we've created for you. If you know of an RSS feed you'd like to widgetize, just go to http://www.indy.com/widgets/feed and create your own widget.
Click to share it with others and it will appear in the widget list for anyone to install on their home or profile page.
