Trust the government? Not with its track record

I was shocked in disbelief when I read the letter from Suzanne Murray’s Aug. 21 letter. Her ending comment was “I find the argument that the government is not to be trusted disingenuous and short-sighted.”

Medicare is broke; Social Security is broke; Amtrak is broke; the Postal Service is broke; and the federal government is so far in debt that we may never see daylight again. Why would anyone think that the government could be trusted to keep anything it runs from going broke?
