Woman dies in Hamilton Co. traffic accident

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A traffic collision Tuesday in northern Hamilton County claimed the life of a Chesterfield woman.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy Vicky Dunbar said Jewel M. McCord, 65, was driving passenger vehicle east on Strawtown Avenue shortly before 2:45 p.m. when she failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign at Ind. 37.

A large dump truck filled with gravel traveling south on Ind. 37 struck her vehicle.McCord was declared dead at the scene.The truck driver, David Clark, 51, Westfield, suffered minor injuries.
