Chatham Tap Pub & Restaurant (719 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis, IN)
    17

We come to Chatham all the time and always enjoy ourselves. The food is really delicious. I’ve had their burger, salad and fish and chips, and enjoyed them all. The salad was delicious – I believe the menu mentioned it was all organic. It had goat cheese, pine nuts and cranberry in it. It’s a very chill bar with friendly staff. We often go to watch ‘football,’ European style. Fun place.

King David Dogs (15 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN)

Tater tots as a side are highly satisfying. The hotdogs are filling and pretty good with all the sides they offer, but they should be for the price. I always leave satisfied, but I’ve certainly had better hot dogs.

Ripple Bagel & Deli (850 Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN)

When you’re drunk in Broad Ripple, this is where you go. When you’re hungover, you also come here. Get it? Did I mention they have free candy at the counter?

The owners are very kind and support the local community, which is really wonderful. The menu is far from the usual deli list of sandwiches. You can pretty much eat any sandwich you can think up, although it’s probably listed on the board, somewhere.

Steamed bagel sandwiches are good for those nights when the usual just won’t do. Definitely worth a taste test.

Bosphorus (935 S. East St., Indianapolis, IN)

Do you ever go someplace and end up craving it for days? This is that place.

I did not know much about Turkish food, but I am so glad we stopped by this lovely restaurant to give it a try. Our meal came with warm pita bread, and we also ordered the Borek, a flaky pastry filled with feta cheese and parsley. Mmmm!!! It was so good! It was cooked like a southwest spring roll, and the dish came with hummus, lettuce and tomatoes for dipping. We ordered the lamb and beef mediterranean for dinner, which was like a flavorful stew – loved it. The sauce is the perfect mix of seasonings, and paired with the rice and beef, you can’t go wrong.

Atmosphere – quaint, romantic, unique, cozy. And the owner is so incredibly friendly. He gave us a free sample of Turkish delight, a gummy dessert on a stick. I am hankering for my next meal there.

Iaria's Italian Restaurant (317 S. College Ave., Indianapolis, IN)
    7

The meals are filling, affordable and you leave feeling like you found a little gem of a restaurant in a rough stretch of the city.

My only complaint, it’s always freezing cold when I’m in there.

The lasagna is divine. I love the sweet sauce. And treat yourself to a strawberry shortcake.
